A man. A woman. The yielding to temptation. The fall of humanity from God’s original created perfection. This was how paradise was lost.

Another man, whose lineage is traced back to the first woman, walks into the desert wilderness. His feet kick up the dust from which we all come and to which we all return. This man does not yield to temptation. He has been sent by God to fulfill God’s promise of the restoration. He is how paradise will be regained.

Every year at Lent, we journey together with Jesus from wilderness to cross. Lent is the 40-day period prior to Easter which is  reminiscent of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness and the Israelite’s 40 years’ of wandering in the wilderness.

Join us on Wednesday nights during Lent (Feb. 17-Mar. 16, 6:00-8:00 p.m.) for family-style dinners and short-term Bible studies. On Maundy Thursday (Mar. 24, 7 p.m.) we will serve one another as Jesus served his disciples by washing feet and sharing bread and wine. On Good Friday (Mar. 25, noon-3 p.m.) the sanctuary will be open for prayer. Our Lenten journey prepares us to joyfully celebrate the hope and promise of Easter Resurrection.

With you on the journey,

Pastor Melanie
